Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The general commander of the National Police, general commissioner Arnaldo Manuel Carlos, defended, this Wednesday, the increase in public security levels in the province of Cunene, in order to guarantee stability, social peace and social and economic development of the region.<\/b><\/p>\n

The general commissioner made this statement at the presentation and handover ceremony of the new delegate and commander of the National Police in Cunene, commissioner Alberto Mutunga.<\/p>\n

The new commander replaced Chief Commissioner Anto\u0301nio Leita\u0303o, who will serve as commander of the Strategic Objectives Security Police, a body focused on guaranteeing the protection and security of infrastructures in the country.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, he said that the ceremony marks the beginning of the current commander’s duties to carry out police missions with professionalism and panache, in order to guarantee the stability and security of populations, as well as the normal functioning of institutions.<\/p>\n

He recalled that public security is a responsibility of State bodies, which must count on the participation of society, to raise standards and guarantee the stability and security of communities.<\/p>\n

The general commander asked staff from different bodies to provide unconditional support to the new commander, in order to successfully carry out his duties, in a climate of unity and a spirit of mutual collaboration.<\/p>\n

Arnaldo Carlos highlighted the professionalism demonstrated by Leita\u0303o Ribeiro, in implementing police actions and strategies that allowed the prevention and combat of various types of crimes.<\/p>\n

For his part, Commissioner Alberto Mutunga promised to work as a team, continue the previous work and implement other actions with everyone’s collaboration to better serve and preserve the population’s assets.<\/p>\n

The outgoing commander, Chief Commissioner Leita\u0303o Ribeiro, said that he ended his mission with his duty fulfilled, calling for greater support for his successor in order to maintain the stability of public security in the communities.<\/p>\n

Leita\u0303o Ribeiro headed the position of provincial commander and delegate of the Ministry of the Interior in Cunene for a period of four years.<\/p>\n

The presentation ceremony was witnessed by the governor of Cunene, Gerdina Didalelwa, members of the government and officers from the general command, the Interior delegation and the police.<\/p>\n
