Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The director of multilateral affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sara Silva, called this Tuesday, in Luanda, for coordinated action by Central African Member States in the search for global solutions to guarantee sustainable development, peace and security in the region.<\/b><\/p>\n

These actions, added the diplomat who was speaking at the meeting of Senior Officials of the United Nations Permanent Consultative Committee on Security Issues in Central Africa (UNSAC), must be aligned with the UN Agenda 2030 and 2063 of the African Union.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Sara Silva highlighted the importance of identifying solutions to the problems the region faces, related to economic and humanitarian crises, terrorism, climate change and the low participation of women and young people in political processes.<\/p>\n

He also reaffirmed Angola’s commitment to collaborating with international and regional bodies to resolve conflicts and promote inclusive gender policies, in accordance with Resolution 1325 of the United Nations Security Council.<\/p>\n

During the first day, senior officials analyzed the geopolitical and security situation in Central Africa, with a special focus on Gabon, Chad and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).<\/p>\n

The experts also addressed the impact of conflicts on school institutions and the educational system in the region, highlighting the need to adopt urgent measures to mitigate the adverse effects on the educational development of children and young people.<\/p>\n

UNSAC is made up of the 11 Member States of the Economic Community of Central African States (CEEAC), specifically Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Rwanda and Sa\u0303o Paulo. Tome\u0301 and Pri\u0301ncipe.<\/p>\n

The Committee meets biannually to assess the state of the geopolitical and security situation in Central Africa, as well as to monitor disarmament and arms limitation programs and promote initiatives aimed at peace.<\/p>\n

This meeting precedes the ministerial session to take place this Friday (24).<\/p>\n
