Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The 12th store of the Portuguese chain Maxi, opened today, Thursday, for the first time in Lubango, Hui\u0301la province, will focus on the retail business, to add value to Angolan products and help the development of this African country.<\/b><\/p>\n

The commercial network, with a new format aimed at retail, now has 60 percent of products purchased locally, through 40 producers with signed contracts to supply 24 thousand tons of food.<\/p>\n

The challenge was launched by the general director of the network in Angola, Joa\u0303o Cordeiro, at the inauguration of the respective commercial establishment, by the provincial vice-governor of Hui\u0301la for the political, social and economic sector, Maria Joa\u0303o Francisco Chipalavela.<\/p>\n

He stated that the new trend aims to provide a quality offer from the producer to the consumer, with fresh products.<\/p>\n

He made it known that several initiatives developed by Maxi, namely in the promotion of national production (Fazenda Maxi program), training and professional development (Academia Max) and social responsibility focused on parts, as well as the health segment, constitute investments of the Companhia Nacional group of Distribution (CND).<\/p>\n

In turn, the deputy governor for the political, social and economic sector, Maria Joa\u0303o Chipalavela, considered that the number of jobs generated with the opening of this commercial establishment, \u201cHui\u0301la wins\u201d.<\/p>\n

The store, now open to the public, located in an area of \u200b\u200bone thousand square meters of covered commercial space and costing more than one billion kwanzas, generated a total of 70 direct and indirect jobs, whose ages range between 18 and 40 years.<\/p>\n

Founded 28 years ago, Maxi is today one of the largest retail chains in Angola, with 12 stores in eight cities, namely Luanda, Benguela, Sumbe, Porto Amboim, Cacuaco, Viana and Lobito, the store is part of the Teixeira Duarte Group, from CND.<\/p>\n
