Vu Ngoc Minh, who offered his farewell greetings to the Head of State for ending the diplomatic mission in Angola, said that Covid-19 slowed down the good progress of bilateral relations between the two countries, hence there is a need to work on strengthening them. . “Now that the pandemic situation is under control, also in our two countries, we are working closely with the Angolan partners, for a total review of activities related to the specific aspects of cooperation”, he stressed. that the review of cooperation will keep the traditional areas developed between the two States, such as health, education, construction and others integrated in the diplomatic sphere. “Currently, the existing cooperation is stable”, assured Vu Ngoc Minh, for whom it will be deepened, with this review, further enhancing bilateral relations.<\/p>\n

The work is centered on exploring new areas, according to the wishes of the two countries, the diplomat said. Ambassador Vu Ngoc Minh, despite not mentioning his next mission, said, by the way, that he had carried out, during his consulate in the country, various activities that helped to strengthen bilateral relations between Angola and Vietnam.<\/p>\n

Vietnam, with notable growth in the Asian context, has one of the most “robust” emerging economies, with a strong performance in the electronic, industrial and agribusiness sectors. Bilateral relations, according to public data, have registered signs on the part of Vietnamese businessmen interested in increasing business in the country, especially in the field of agriculture, a sector chosen by Angola for the diversification of its economy. In 1978, the two countries signed the General Cooperation Agreement, a legal-diplomatic instrument that served as the basis for the opening of several other protocols aimed at the social, economic and technical-scientific areas.<\/p>\n

Diplomatic relations between the two countries began on November 12, 1975, shortly after the proclamation of National Independence, through the declaration of recognition by the Government of Vietnam. The quick recognition resulted from the support given to the Angolan State’s National Liberation Struggle, consecrating the historic relations maintained between Angola and Vietnam.<\/p>\n
