{"id":63403,"date":"2024-05-26T18:03:53","date_gmt":"2024-05-26T18:03:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/minister-considers-peace-to-be-a-primary-condition-for-development"},"modified":"2024-05-26T18:41:05","modified_gmt":"2024-05-26T18:41:05","slug":"minister-considers-peace-to-be-a-primary-condition-for-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/minister-considers-peace-to-be-a-primary-condition-for-development","title":{"rendered":"Minister considers peace to be a primary condition for development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tete\u0301 Anto\u0301nio, considered, this Friday, peace as a primary condition for the implementation and development of any government action.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The minister, who was speaking at the opening of the 57th ministerial meeting of the United Nations Permanent Consultative Committee taking place in Luanda, said that, in the context of peace prevention, mediation is the instrument that should be favored for the peaceful resolution of conflicts.<\/p>\n<p>Tete\u0301 Anto\u0301nio said that Angola has become increasingly committed to finding peaceful solutions for the region, in particular, to improve relations between the Republic of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), within the scope of the Luanda process.<\/p>\n<p>For mediation to be effective, said the minister, complementarity constitutes an added value in achieving results capable of achieving the objectives of peace, and imbued with this spirit, Angola defends coordination between engaged actors and institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Tete\u0301 Anto\u0301nio explained that cooperation between the United Nations and regional organizations, as well as partnerships with other regional institutions, such as the European Union (EU) and individual or collective actors, reinforce the action of mediation, prevention and resolution of conflicts.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, he highlighted the use of mechanisms that establish wise panels of the African Union, regional and subregional organizations, as well as mechanisms that take into account the dimension of women to continue to deserve special attention.<\/p>\n<p>In relation to the conflict and tension situation that the central African region still faces, the minister stressed that it is still necessary for all States to engage in resolution, &#8220;above all due to the fact that there is interdependence between States, in addition to the ties of consanguinity and fraternity that unite the people of our region&#8221;, he said.<\/p>\n<p>In turn, when addressing the security situation in certain member states of the Community, the former president of Rwanda, Charles Rudakubana, said that it will always be a cause for concern.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that Central Africa is marked by the presence of conflicts that weaken its States and implies close collaboration with areas in the region.<\/p>\n<p>For this reason, he said there was a need to resolve conflicts in Central Africa and support all good initiatives to improve the security situation in the region.<\/p>\n<p>He recalled that the security threat in the region, maritime piracy in the Gulf of Guinea, the migration crisis, climate change, terrorism, violent extremists and the proliferation of armed groups raise concerted reflections to find appropriate solutions and avoid instability in the region.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, resolving the conflict in eastern DRC concerns everyone and involves presenting a political solution, with the United Nations supporting peace initiatives that benefit other countries in the region.<\/p>\n<p>They constitute the United Nations Permanent Advisory Committee in Charge of Security Questions in Central Africa (UNSAC), Angola, Burundi, Gabon, Cameroon, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Sa\u0303o Tome\u0301 and Pri\u0301ncipe, Rwanda, Chad, Republic Central Africa (CAR) and Equatorial Guinea.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\">Angola<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola.
