Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Issues related to the increase in economic and political relations between Angola and Turkey were under analysis, in the audience that the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, granted this Tuesday, in Luanda, to the country’s ambassador, Ufuk Ekici.<\/b><\/p>\n

The diplomat, at the end of his mission, went to the Presidential Palace, where he presented farewell greetings to the Angolan Head of State.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, Ufuk Ekici informed that the Turkish Government defends the need to strengthen economic cooperation with the Angolan authorities, with a view to improving the partnership between both countries.<\/p>\n

According to the diplomat, his country’s government has been promoting Angola’s image in Turkish economic circles, encouraging Turkish companies to invest more and more in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cEconomic and political relations are excellent, but we need to increasingly increase the economic relationship between the two countries\u201d, he expressed.<\/p>\n

Diplomatic relations between Angola and Turkey date back to 1980. The two countries have cooperation agreements in the fields of trade, agriculture, education, culture, defense, justice, sports, fisheries, science and technology, oil and gas and industry.<\/p>\n

In Angola, Turkey has investments in the provinces of Luanda and Ui\u0301ge, in the areas of industry, commerce, education and civil construction.<\/p>\n

Cooperation is considered good and the two governments have made efforts to increase it in the most varied areas.<\/p>\n

In addition to other legal instruments, Angola and Turkey have signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the aeronautical authorities, as well as a Verbal Process of the I Session of the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation.<\/p>\n
