Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Deputies of the National Assembly praised, Tuesday, the work carried out by the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, in mediating and resolving conflicts in Africa.<\/b><\/p>\n

Today marks two years since the Head of State was designated Champion of the African Union for Peace and Reconciliation in Africa (CAMPPA\u0301FRICA), at the 16th extraordinary summit of the African Union (AU), also known as the Malabo Summit.<\/p>\n

Deputy Maria Antonieta Baptista considered Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o a tireless President with a futuristic vision, whose neighboring countries must recognize his active and permanent role in the search for peace.<\/p>\n

In his opinion, the Angolan statesman has the merit of developing diplomacy in search of peace and development in Africa.<\/p>\n

He said that the head of state fights for the democratization of the region, as he wants to see the continent free from any conflict.<\/p>\n

For her part, deputy Ana da Purificac\u0327a\u0303o stated that Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o has transmitted Angola’s example of pacification and reconciliation to other African countries, to prevent them from going through what Angola went through during the long armed conflict.<\/p>\n

Therefore, he said that Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o’s merit must be recognized for almost \u201closing sleep\u201d in resolving conflicts such as that in the DRC, Sudan and the fight against terrorism in Mozambique.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe PR has been mediating all these processes, not because of its own decision or because of its position in SADC, but because other countries recognize the effort made in this regard\u201d, he asserted.<\/p>\n

He stressed that this position is recognized by peers. \u201cThey are the ones who want for their countries what Angola achieved\u201d.<\/p>\n
