Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>A factory with a capacity to transform 1,700 tons of coffee\/year begins operating, before the end of this year, in the main municipality of the province of Ui\u0301ge, aiming to contribute to the promotion, industrialization and commercialization of this crop. <\/b><\/p>\n

The province has two coffee processing factories, operating in the municipalities of Ui\u0301ge and Negage.<\/p>\n

The new coffee factory, installed around 15 kilometers from the city of Ui\u0301ge, in a field of 25 hectares of planted coffee and five hectares of cocoa, was visited, Friday, by the provincial governor of Ui\u0301ge, Jose\u0301 Carvalho da Rocha.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, owner of the enterprise, Manuel Rodrigues, said that the factory has areas for storage, peeling, roasting, packaging, grinding, coffee packaging, among other spaces.<\/p>\n

The project by the company M. Rodrigues Construc\u0327o\u0303es had a budget valued at 800 million Kwanzas, financed under the Production Support, Export Diversification and Import Substitution Program (PRODESI).<\/p>\n

He also informed that around 100 thousand seedlings produced in the local season will begin to be distributed to local producers, starting next October.<\/p>\n

In turn, the deputy governor of Ui\u0301ge for the Political, Economic and Social sector, So\u0301nia Arlete, said that the factory’s entry into operation this year will increase the local transformation of coffee.<\/p>\n

The region expects to harvest more than ten thousand tons of coffee this year, in an effort carried out by two more families dedicated to the production of this crop.<\/p>\n
