Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Agrarian Technical Institute (ITA), in the commune of Missombo, which is 15 kilometers from Menongue, capital of Cuando Cubango, was reinforced with a Toyota Hilux brand vehicle and three motorbikes, to improve the performance of field work by students at the institution.<\/b><\/p>\n

At the end of the handover, the governor of Cuando Cubango, Jose\u0301 Martins, recognized that the institute is at a considerable distance from the city of Menongue, which has contributed to the reduction of young people at ITA, hence the allocation of the means to allow students have an easier life, from home to school and vice versa.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that, within the framework of the Support for Rural Agrarian Training (PAFAR) project, financed by the French Agency for Agrarian Development, to be carried out by the Ministry of Education, in addition to the delivery of rolling stock, ITA will also benefit from construction works rehabilitation of its structure, as well as the completion of its internship.<\/p>\n

He said that, in order to facilitate mobility, in the batch of 12 buses delivered by the Provincial Government to companies operating public transport, guidelines were issued so that the Menongue\/Missombo route and vice versa would be one of the priorities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a set of elements to ensure that there is, in the coming days, a more intense movement and a more effective presence of students here at the Agrarian Technical Institute of Missombo\u201d, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

He considered that the means will allow teams of teachers and students to be taken to the communities, aiming to carry out their practical classes, at the same time that they will be helping peasants or family farmers in the knowledge transfer environment.<\/p>\n

According to the official, with the ongoing implementation of field schools in the municipalities, ITA joins the process so that farmers can have sufficient technical experience, which allows them to produce and cultivate the land and, from there, obtain the best possible results.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is how students at this institution will also be able to quickly reconcile theory and practice, so that they can be good agronomist technicians to support the great challenges of increasing agricultural production, for food self-sufficiency\u201d , he stressed.<\/p>\n

For his part, the director of the institution, Eduardo Bento, said that the resources will be used to support curricular internships and help final-year students in preparing their end-of-course work, taking into account the need to collect data within the communities.<\/p>\n

He made it known that, since the institution began operating in 2014, 233 students have already graduated in plant production and animal production courses, and in the current academic year 340 students are enrolled.<\/p>\n
