Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>A group of 300 farmers from the municipality of Quiculungo, province of Cuanza-Norte, is part of a project to massify coffee production, which will start in the next few days at regional level, with the purpose of rescuing the \u201cmystique\u201d of coffee production. red berry\u201d that characterized the agricultural culture of the district during the colonial era and in the 70s and 80s of the 20th century.<\/b><\/p>\n

The project was presented yesterday, in Quiculungo, by the general director of the National Coffee Institute (INCA), Vasco Gonc\u0327alves, as part of the implementation and dissemination of the National Mukafe Program, which in the first phase will encompass the construction of spaces for the production of seedlings adaptable to the region\u2019s climatic conditions.<\/p>\n

The project will also include the participation of young people and women in the practice of coffee cultivation to increase jobs, in addition to creating premises that facilitate access to agricultural credit, through the Agrarian Support and Development Fund (FADA). The rugged territory, characteristic of the municipality, does not constitute an impediment to the practice of coffee cultivation, said the general director of INCA.<\/p>\n

During his working visit lasting a few hours to the municipality of Quiculungo, Vasco Gonc\u0327alves assessed the preparation levels of farmers participating in the project, in addition to listening to local authorities about the situation of coffee farms in the municipality. The locations where the nurseries will be located for the production of seedlings were also identified.<\/p>\n

The director of the Municipal Agriculture Office of Quiculungo, Santa Rosa Alberto, highlighted that the implementation of the project will allow for an increase in production and diversification of the local economy, with an impact on the lives of families.<\/p>\n
