Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, highlighted , in Luanda, the \u201cgood\u201d relations of parliamentary cooperation between Angola and Nigeria, highlighting the role of this country for political stability and peace in Africa.<\/b><\/p>\n

The parliamentary leader, who was speaking during a meeting with the Nigerian parliamentary delegation, defends more exchanges in the exchange of experiences in various areas between the two parliaments.<\/p>\n

The head of the Nigerian parliamentary delegation, Bilyamini Shinkafi, at the end of the meeting with President Carolina Cerqueira, said that the meeting served to deepen friendly relations between the two parliaments, especially in areas linked to parliamentary management, human resources, recruitment, as well as the process of disciplinary bureaucracy for parliamentary employees. \u201cWe welcome good experiences from employees. We have very positive information,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n

Bilyamini Shinkafi highlighted that “what I previously heard about Angola is completely different from what I see now on the ground. The most important thing is that I feel as if I were still in Lagos, Nigeria. And you can believe that there is a lot that we we can learn and copy from Angola\u201d, highlighted the head of the Nigerian Parliament delegation.<\/p>\n

Carolina Cerqueira informed that Angola will host the 55th Plenary Assembly of the SADC Parliamentary Forum, which Luanda will host from the 1st to the 7th of July, under the motto “The role of Parliaments in the Promotion of Renewable Energy Policies and the Creation of an Energy Market Single Region\u201d.<\/p>\n

The president of the National Assembly announced that this month Parliament will be admitted as a full member of the General Assembly of Francophonie Parliaments. This body has, among other missions, to promote peace, democracy, support education, training and develop economic cooperation for sustainable development.<\/p>\n

Next year, he continued, the country will also host the General Assembly of the Parliamentary Forum of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (CIRGIL).<\/p>\n

The Parliamentary Forum of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (FP-CIRGL) is an inter-parliamentary organization that brings together the national parliaments of the 12 member states of the CIRGL, namely Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic (CAR), Congo, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia.<\/p>\n
