{"id":64057,"date":"2024-06-06T07:15:15","date_gmt":"2024-06-06T07:15:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/?p=64057"},"modified":"2024-06-06T06:56:14","modified_gmt":"2024-06-06T06:56:14","slug":"angola-presents-structuring-projects-in-budapest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/angola-presents-structuring-projects-in-budapest","title":{"rendered":"Angola presents structuring projects in Budapest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, presented, on Monday, in Budapest, capital of Hungary, several structuring projects for the country&#8217;s socio-economic development, mentioning national plans to promote domestic production, namely Planagra\u0303o, Planapescas, Planapecua\u0301ria and Planomineral.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio made the presentation during a lecture at the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy, addressed to specialists in international relations, journalists from local media outlets and students from the country&#8217;s various universities.<\/p>\n<p>The head of Angolan diplomacy focused on Angola&#8217;s economic potential and the efforts made by President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o to maintain peace and security on the African continent.<\/p>\n<p>Angola, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has developed a broad energy production program based on non-polluting sources, namely through solar panels in the provinces of Benguela and Namibe, which are added to the hydroelectric dams in the middle Kwanza, as well as the biofuel production in the province of Malanje.<\/p>\n<p>The minister also referred to the Lobito Corridor, which has a deep-water port, which is joined by the Benguela Railway (CFB), which connects Angola to the Democratic Republics of Congo (DRC) and Zambia, with great prospects of connecting to the Indian Ocean port of Dar-Es-Salam, in Tanzania, and further on to the port of Beira, also in the Indian Ocean, but in Mozambique.<\/p>\n<p>The head of Angolan diplomacy also spoke about the entry into operation of the Agostinho Neto International Airport, in Luanda, which aims to become a &#8220;hub&#8221;, with capacity for 15 million passengers per year, to connect to the various routes flights to various destinations around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The reforms carried out in the country, said the minister, aim to improve the business environment, namely the fight against corruption, strengthening transparency (including adherence to the International Transparency Initiative), administrative simplification and de-bureaucratization, exemption or simplification of visas, policies investor-friendly financial and commercial sectors and strong investment in the electricity production, water, telecommunications and other infrastructure sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Lessons learned from war<\/p>\n<p>From the lessons learned in the long civil war, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio said that Angola built a doctrine of peace, which it has been putting at the service of the African continent and the United Nations, exemplifying the Luanda Roadmaps for peace in the Central African Republic (CAR) and for the easing of tension between the DRC and Rwanda, having highlighted Angola&#8217;s participation in the SADC Peace Missions in Lesotho and Mozambique.<\/p>\n<p>Still with regard to peace, Angola has been holding, in collaboration with the African Union and UNESCO, the Luanda Biennial for the Culture of Peace, with three editions having already been held.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of this remarkable work, recalled the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, was elected by his peers, Heads of State and Government of the African Union, in May 2022, in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, Champion for Peace and Reconciliation in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the two major conflicts that currently dominate the international agenda, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio told those present at the lecture that Angola defends the primacy of dialogue to resolve disputes, through negotiation, saving human lives and putting an end to the humanitarian, social and economic.<\/p>\n<p>In the specific case of the conflict between Israel and Palestine, he clarified that the country is in favor of a solution of two independent and sovereign States, within the framework of the relevant United Nations resolutions.<\/p>\n<p>The minister also explained that Angola is located in a geopolitical zone that connects the Central and Southern regions of Africa, with a market of around 800 million consumers.
