Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Fourteen households from the commune of Chitado, municipality of Curoca (Cunene), received, this Thursday, 126 heads of goat cattle to promote animal husbandry in this location.<\/b><\/p>\n

Of the total number of animals delivered to families in vulnerable situations, there are 108 females and 18 males, which will reproduce and benefit other families, according to the head of department at the Local Development Institute (FAS) in Cunene, Eduardo Silunda.<\/p>\n

The animals delivered to families in vulnerable situations will allow the creation of the revolving fund for inclusion in communities, within the scope of the second productive component of the Kwenda program.<\/p>\n

According to the source, as the animals reproduce, the parents will be transferred to the most needy families, to continue the animal development program.<\/p>\n

Eduardo Silunda said that, to date, a total of 1,243 animals of the 1,289 planned by the end of the year have been delivered, benefiting 1,237 households in the municipalities of Onco\u0301cua and Chitado.<\/p>\n

The Kwenda program has four components, namely, monetary social transfers, productive inclusion, municipalization of social action and reinforcement of the single social register.<\/p>\n

Data from the Multidimensional Poverty report of the Municipalities of Angola, released in 2019, considers Curoca as the poorest municipality in the country, indicating an incidence of 98 percent, in all dimensions.<\/p>\n

The indicators focused on health, education, housing quality and employment, based on the 2014 General Population and Housing Census.<\/p>\n

The municipality of Curoca has 56 thousand inhabitants, divided into 25 villages and two communes, namely Onco\u0301cua and Chitado.<\/p>\n
