Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Robusta coffee producers at Fazenda Cachitecnol Lda, in the municipality of Andulo, Bie\u0301 province, plan to harvest five tons, in the current agricultural season (2023\/2024), as announced by the owner.<\/b><\/p>\n

Fonseca Satula said that the agricultural enterprise located in the village of Chicumbi, 14 kilometers from Andulo, prepared almost half of the 18 hectares exclusively for coffee plantations, with the other part (around 10 hectares) distributed among other crops including cassava, banana, corn , sugar cane and beans.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the farmer praised the Executive’s incentives for the development of coffee production in particular, but considers that the financing and agricultural means made available are still not enough to face the challenges of coffee producers in the province of rescuing the previous mystique leadership in Arabica coffee production in the Central region of the country.<\/p>\n

The businessman defends strong investments in projects so that there are positive results, highlighting the importance of municipal and provincial fairs.<\/p>\n

“Coffee production normally involves a lot of labor, but with the lack of financing, each farm currently employs only four to five workers, a factor that greatly reduces its harvest”, he declared.<\/p>\n

Fonseca Satula explained that its production has aroused the interest of traders who transport coffee to Luanda and Benguela, including in other parts of the world such as Portugal, Spain, Italy, Lebanon, among other countries.<\/p>\n

Coffee cultivation in Angola, in its producing regions, has an economic and cultural nature. Production is carried out not only due to income, but also to satisfy habits and customs acquired over generations, making the production system sustainable and the longevity of the culture as an intrinsic wealth in rural areas.<\/p>\n

Coffee, an agricultural product of universal consumption, due to the quality and attributes of its drink, is a crop that generates foreign exchange, family income and employment, thus fulfilling the requirements of a green product.<\/p>\n
