Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The implementation of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), in the last three years, consumed around US$500 million for the construction, rehabilitation and completion of social infrastructure in the various municipalities of the country.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was provided by the Minister of Finance, Vera Daves de Sousa, when speaking, Tuesday (19), at the 4th Edition of “Caf\u00e9CIPRA”, in Luanda. According to the minister, the Executive assumed the commitment to invest in infrastructure, without compromising the sustainability of public finances and the future of generations. She also said that, at the moment, there are ongoing negotiations by the Angolan Government with several partners for the opening of new lines of financing in favor of projects with a strong impact on the lives of families.<\/p>\n

Vera Daves de Sousa was one of the facilitators of “Caf\u00e9 CIPRA” \u2013 Dialogue without Mediation, which also brought together the ministers of Territory Administration, Marcy Cl\u00e1udio Lopes, and the Minister of Public Works and Territorial Planning, Manuel Tavares de Almeida.<\/p>\n

During the dialogue with journalists and other guests, Vera Daves de Sousa recalled, on the other hand, that the works included in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) are fully financed by the Government, and the amount “derives” from the disbursement of money However, other initiatives, included in the Public Investment Program (PIP), make use of other financing lines, which is why they admit the entry and presence of external entities in their execution.<\/p>\n

As the Minister of Finance explained, normally, countries that provide credit lines require the hiring of companies from their country, such as in the supply of raw materials, leaving the Government to monitor and certify that the forecast is fulfilled in accordance with the agreements.<\/p>\n

Social Housing<\/b><\/p>\n

The Angolan Executive has built, in the last four years, a total of 39,000 housing units in eight provinces of the country.<\/p>\n

12 centralities were also built, 1,470 kilometers of roads were rehabilitated, in addition to infrastructure, 800 plots of land and more than 1,700 plots for self-built construction.<\/p>\n

These figures were presented by the Minister of Public Works and Territorial Planning, Ma-nuel Tavares, during the fourth edition of “Caf\u00e9 CIPRA”, which carried out an assessment of construction factors, with the theme “The construction of large infrastructures In turn, the Minister of Territory Administration, Marcy Lopes, stated that the Government has sought, over these almost five years, to design, develop, execute and implement a series of works to guarantee the relaunch of the development of the national economy. Marcy Lopes said that “The Construction of Major Infrastructures” has as a strategy to ensure the country’s economic competitiveness.<\/p>\n

In this perspective, the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) was adopted, which, so far, has conceived 2 thousand projects, against the initial 800. He said that more than 350 projects have already been concluded throughout the country, and that there are financial guarantees to implement the others, thanks to a survey of the situation.<\/p>\n
