Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan defender Kialonda Gaspar said Friday that he has decided to join Italy’s Serie A Lecce, due to its history.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the local media at his official presentation to the members and fans of the club, the player said he turned down several offers in Europe and beyond to join Lecce.<\/p>\n

Responding to a journalist’s question about whether he preferred to play in a three or four-back system, he said that he adapts to the coach’s instructions.<\/p>\n

“I adapt to the coach’s needs, the types of games, the opponents. With the club I often played with 3 or 5, with the Angolan national team I played with 4,” Gaspar said.<\/p>\n

The player added that other Angolan players played a major role in his decision to go to Italy namely, Zito Luvumbo (Cagliari) and Mbala Nzola (Fiorentina).<\/p>\n

The former Sagrada Esperanc\u0327a player (Angola), said that his current priority is to work to get into top shape, having revealed that since he was a child he has been inspired by defenders Sergio Ramos and Thiago Silva, for their quality and willingness to work, despite their age.<\/p>\n

In July, Kialonda Gaspar signed a three-year contract with an option for two more with the Italian club.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old defender has been a mainstay in the center of Angola\u2019s national defense in recent years.<\/p>\n

Angola is currently seeking a spot in for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup.<\/p>\n
