{"id":68363,"date":"2024-08-22T09:52:01","date_gmt":"2024-08-22T09:52:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/agostinho-neto-airport-tests-passenger-boarding-and-disembarking"},"modified":"2024-08-22T10:08:15","modified_gmt":"2024-08-22T10:08:15","slug":"agostinho-neto-airport-tests-passenger-boarding-and-disembarking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/agostinho-neto-airport-tests-passenger-boarding-and-disembarking","title":{"rendered":"Agostinho Neto Airport Tests Passenger Boarding and Disembarking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>Eighty-five passengers disembarked at Dr. Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN), in Luanda, on an operational simulation flight to test the safety, efficiency and service of this airport infrastructure.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This operation was carried out with the Boeing 737-700 aircraft from the Angolan company TAAG, which, a few days ago, took off at 9:00 am from 4 de Fevereiro International Airport and landed at 9:30 am at AIAAN, in an initiative of the company Airoport Temporary Operator (ATO) and the Cabinet Operational of the New Luanda International Airport (GONAIL), according to a press release on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to the document, after disembarking, the passengers (TAAG employees and institutional guests) went through the transfer flow and returned to the plane for their return journey.<\/p>\n<p>The note adds that the objective of the operational passenger flight was to assess the readiness of passenger procedures and test the interoperability of the airport&#8217;s technological systems, ensuring compliance with the best international security and ground handling practices.<\/p>\n<p>The special service, which forms part of AIAAN&#8217;s ongoing program, involved more than 500 volunteers and included the participation of several airlines.<\/p>\n<p>Opened on November 10, 2023, AIAAN has a multidimensional structure and the capacity to operate at least five thousand passengers, during peak hours, and process more than 130,000 tons of cargo\/year.<\/p>\n<p>Located 42 kilometers from the Angolan capital (Luanda), in an area of \u200b\u200b75 square kilometers, the infrastructure contains a system of two parallel runways that allow independent mixed operations to be carried out.<\/p>\n<p>One of the runways, four thousand meters long and 20 meters wide, is designed to receive, among others, aircraft of the B747 and A380 type, currently the largest commercial aircraft, in addition to contemplating the construction of an airport city that will cover an area of construction of 75 square kilometers.<\/p>\n<p>Since its inauguration, the new airport has only received cargo flights, with commercial passenger aircraft expected to become operational later this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About Angola Follow Africa-Press<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola.
