Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The activities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of independence were the focus of a meeting in Luanda Wednesday between the ministries of Youth and Sports and of Finance.<\/b><\/p>\n

Held behind closed doors, the meeting discussed current issues, particularly sports sponsorship and the construction of infrastructure, some of which will be inaugurated during the 50th anniversary celebrations.<\/p>\n

Rui Falca\u0303o (Youth and Sports) and Vera Daves (Finance) also addressed the debt issue, among others, resulting from the non-payment of competition prizes to athletes, technical teams and managers.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, Rui Falca\u0303o said that in addition to the current debt situation, they also discussed the need for greater support for Youth and Sport, and for the National Sports Medicine Centre (CENAMED).<\/p>\n

The two ministers discussed how the issue of sports sponsorship should be dealt with from now on.<\/p>\n

The minister said that the sector’s issues have been discussed comprehensively, resulting in concerns being raised and guidelines given to work on what is needed.<\/p>\n

Rui Falca\u0303o said the program for the 50th anniversary of independence in 2025 should be seen within a special framework, and that a specific commission will be set up for this purpose.<\/p>\n
