Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>At least 9.3 million students will attend the 2024\/2025 academic year across the country, the Minister of State for Social Affairs, Maria do Rosa\u0301rio Braganc\u0327a said Friday.<\/b><\/p>\n

The announcement was made at the opening of the 2024\/2025 Academic Year, under the motto \u201cValuing the Voices of Teachers, Towards a New Social Contract for Education\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to the minister, for the 2024\/2025 Academic Year, around 12,500 schools are available, in a universe of 120,000 classrooms underlining that the aforementioned school infrastructures allowed the entry, for the first time, into the educational system of more than 1.6 million students.<\/p>\n

The minister recalled that school quality depends, to a large extent, on the rigor required of each of the actors in the teaching process, namely teachers and students.<\/p>\n

Maria do Rosa\u0301rio Braganc\u0327a said admission tests were introduced for access to technical-professional education, aiming to promote the improvement of the profile of professionals trained in public and public-private educational institutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the academic year that we formally open today, the generalization of national exams will occur, with certification of the 12th grade of general secondary education, marking an important step in the process of carrying out national exams at different levels of education, as an instrument of credibility of the academic certificate\u201d , the minister said.<\/p>\n

Maria do Rosa\u0301rio Braganc\u0327a announced the introduction this academic year of the French language in the syllabus to aid students develop early linguistic skills for international communication, within the scope of the Implementation Strategy of the new Teaching Management Model in the 5th and 6th grades.<\/p>\n

Maria do Rosa\u0301rio Braganc\u0327a explained that the government, through various structuring programs, has been working to expand the school network and increase the number of students in the education and teaching system to respond to the demand.<\/p>\n

The opening act of the 2024\/2025 Academic Year was attended by the Minister of Education, Lui\u0301sa Grilo, lawmakers, national directors of the Ministry of Education, municipal administrators, teachers and students, religious entities and politicians.<\/p>\n
