Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The MPLA today, in Luanda, appreciated the preliminary draft on participation in the fifth general elections, in addition to other matters related to solving the population’s problems, during the sixth ordinary meeting, convened by the party’s president, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o.<\/b><\/p>\n

At the meeting, guided by Lu\u00edsa Dami\u00e3o, vice-president of the MPLA, the members of the Secretariat of the Political Bureau also appreciated the preliminary draft Resolution on the Candidacy of the President of the MPLA to the position of President of the Republic of Angola, on the List of Candidates for Deputies to the National Assembly, and on the Interruption of the Mandate of some members of the Central Committee appointed to exercise functions in the State, incompatible with party activity.<\/p>\n

In the final communiqu\u00e9 of this Monday’s meeting, the Secretariat of the Political Bureau says that it has appreciated the Addendum to the Annual Plan of Activities and the Plan of Events for 2022 and the Balance Report of the National Preparatory Commission of the VIII Ordinary Congress of the MPLA, highlighting for the reelection of its president, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, with a significant 98.04% of the votes, an unequivocal proof of the militants’ trust in the leader.<\/p>\n

In addition to considering the proposed Work Agenda for the II Ordinary Session of the Political Bureau and the Central Committee, members of the Secretariat of the Political Bureau (SBP) discussed the Report and Accounts of the Financial Execution of funds received from the State in 2021 , as well as the Political Bureau Draft Directive on Voluntary Contributions to the National Campaign for Participation in the 2022 Elections.<\/p>\n

The same document highlights that the proposal to carry out Special Editions of the “Thermometer” program was also analysed, as part of the materialization of the MPLA’s electoral strategy, a mechanism for interactive and open dialogue with Angolan figures on national and international issues, as an important instrument consultation process through which the party collects opinions from civil society.<\/p>\n

Finally, the members of the SBP praised the importance of the works, recently inaugurated in the province of Cabinda, namely, the General Hospital and the Maritime Passenger Terminal, having considered the intervention of President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o to be opportune, delivered on the occasion, fundamentally, the aspect regarding the work done lately to offer better living conditions to the Angolan people from Cabinda to Cunene, particularly in the Health sector.<\/p>\n
