Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola and Peru signed Monday (25), in Lima, a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of political consultations between the two States.<\/b><\/p>\n

Overall, the memorandum sets out initiatives of interest to both parties that may be developed in the future and marks the beginning of a new era in cooperation between Angola and Peru.<\/p>\n

On behalf of Angola, the designated ambassador, Flor\u00eancio de Almeida, initialed the document, while Ana Santamaria, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru, signed on behalf of her country.<\/p>\n

For Flor\u00eancio de Almeida, the first step has been taken and, certainly, other political or diplomatic steps will follow in the bilateral perspective of negotiating and signing a General Cooperation Agreement.<\/p>\n

For her part, Ana Santamaria highlighted the importance of the act and expressed her country’s intention to accelerate the process and consolidate a healthy and lasting partnership.<\/p>\n

Flor\u00eancio de Almeida, who is still due to present to President Pedro Castilho the letters accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Non-Resident in the Republic of Peru, also represents Angola in Brazil, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname and Chile.<\/p>\n
