Bernhard Brenner said it was a supply contract that will allow that business group to supply the country with military aircraft of the &#8220;32C95&#8221; type. &#8220;I came to Luanda, yesterday (Monday), to thank the President of the Republic of Angola for granting the contract that was signed and for the support provided for its celebration&#8221;, he stressed.<\/p>\n<p>The Airbus vice president expressed his intention to work with the country, also in the field of commercial aviation, helping to diversify the national fleet, to an area that he considers &#8220;much more modern. &#8220;We also intend to work in the area of \u200b\u200bhelicopters , a segment that we intend to invest in&#8221;, declared Bernhard Brenner, who did not mention the amount involved in the purchase of the means. &#8220;But I can say here that this is a very important contract for Airbus, and that it gives us the possibility to work in the defense area&#8221;, he highlighted.<\/p>\n<p>The official assured that Airbus will continue to work for the development of relations with Angola, in terms of aviation and space exploration. &#8220;We feel very honored, especially for all that has been done,&#8221; he said. Airbus was founded in December 1970 and, until January 2014, the company was a subsidiary of EADS, which held 100 percent controlling interest. BAE Systems held 20 percent of the group&#8217;s shares until 2006, when it sold its stake to EADS.
