Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, reaffirmed, on Wednesday, the implementation of policies for the continuous improvement of the social conditions and technical resources of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), in the interest of national defence and security. In a congratulatory message for the 33rd anniversary of the creation of the FAA, which is celebrated, the statesman said that the act of establishing the Angolan Armed Forces, resulting from the merger of two armies that were in conflict with each other, represents a great historical example of good memory at an international level.He writes that technological and scientific developments, at an international level, require the FAA to continue developing its human, technical and technological capabilities to meet the challenges and threats that arise.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the Commander-in-Chief of the FAA, it is also essential to continue with the restructuring, resizing, re-equipping and rejuvenation actions underway in the Armed Forces, with a view to innovating, modernizing and developing their combat capacity.<\/p>\n

\u201cTherefore, the Angolan Executive, in accordance with its budgetary capabilities and in the interests of National Defence and Security, will continue to implement policies aimed at improving social conditions, infrastructure, barracks, weapons, technical and material resources, improving working and training conditions, thus enhancing the value of our personnel\u201d, said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.<\/p>\n

In the context of peace that the country is experiencing, says Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, in addition to the continuous and necessary combat preparation and readiness, it is important that the FAA be equipped to intervene in social tasks and others of national public interest, as well as participate in international missions, as enshrined in the Constitution and the Law, and other international instruments to which Angola is a party.<\/p>\n

In this way, he continues, in view of the festive moment of the 33rd anniversary, he congratulates all General Officers, Admirals, Senior Officers, Captains and Subalterns, Sergeants and Enlisted Men, as well as the civilian workers who have guaranteed the uncompromising defense of Independence, Sovereignty and National Integrity, creating the conditions of security and stability necessary for the economic development and social progress of the country.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o recalls that the international political situation is unfortunately characterized by some localized military conflicts, with a tendency to expand, with emphasis on the military conflicts in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo, in Sudan, between Russia and Ukraine (which has been going on for more than two years) and the conflict that is spreading in the Middle East, which can endanger International Peace and Security, with negative consequences for world peace.<\/p>\n

According to the President of the Republic, the Angolan Armed Forces, within the scope of their missions to defend and safeguard national sovereignty, must continue to maintain close cooperation with other Defence and Security bodies in the fight against organised crime, in protecting borders and in maintaining public order and tranquillity, as well as participating in community activities and environmental preservation.<\/p>\n

Finally, he urged all General Officers, Admirals, Senior Officers, Captains and Subalterns, Sergeants, Enlisted Men and Civil Workers to increase their technical-military and professional knowledge, as well as to reinforce patriotism and loyalty to the Fatherland, respecting the principles that emanate from the military institution, because \u201cthe Fatherland does not beg its children, it orders!\u201d.<\/p>\n
