Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Chief of the General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (CEMG-FAA) highlighted, on Wednesday, in Luanda, the readiness of the FAA to firmly guarantee the defense and integrity of the country’s soil.Aviation General Altino dos Santos, who was speaking at the central event of the celebrations of the 33rd anniversary of the FAA, taking place under the motto \u201cRejuvenating to Strengthen, Preserving Peace and Territorial Integrity\u201d, stressed the need to reaffirm the \u201cunwavering\u201d determination of the Armed Forces to continue to carry out their noble mission with perseverance, under the \u201csupreme\u201d authority of the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI urge all members of the Armed Forces to remain steadfast in fulfilling the mission that the country has delegated, in defending every inch of our land, for which they must always be available, ready and willing to make the necessary sacrifices,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The more than three decades of existence, he said, takes the FAA back to a historical period, in which the country had to organize and mobilize to face external armed aggression, in defense of Independence and sovereignty.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe glorious trajectory followed by the Armed Forces, during these periods, is filled with moments of struggle and victories, in which feats of bravery and determination stand out in different crucial phases of the country’s life, leaving their mark on the golden pages of Angola’s recent history\u201d, added Altino dos Santos, highlighting the complexity of the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a complex situation, characterized by a framework of profound uncertainty, in which the country created the foundations for the creation of the Armed Forces, a noble institution that has proven to be strong throughout its existence,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

The FAA, continued the aviation general, knew how to always remain ready in the most difficult moments, when they overcame barriers that divided them, eliminated hatred and disillusionment, broke down mistrust and won the war that opposed Angolans from the same country.<\/p>\n

Today, said the Chief of Staff of the FAA, \u201cwe are a nation that looks to the future of the country thanks to the courage demonstrated by the brave tugs-of-war, who, with their sweat and blood, cemented the hope of Angolans for an Angola free from combat and in full development and progress\u201d.<\/p>\n

Altino dos Santos also highlighted that the military institution relies, for the most part, on a generation of patriots willing to continue the historical legacy left by \u201call those relentless and fearless officers, sergeants and soldiers who at no time let the country walk alone, galvanized by the nationalist spirit\u201d.<\/p>\n

The new generations of military personnel, he continued, must continue to redouble their vigilance, organization, discipline and permanent combative disposition, warding off the negative phenomena resulting from the \u201cwinds of the current situation\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur young soldiers, as in the past, must transmit examples of value that ennoble the class and institution they serve and swore to defend to the last consequences,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The President of the Republic, according to the aviation general, has been developing policies framed in the technical and material improvement of the military organization, providing it with adequate infrastructures and means that allow it to exercise total control of the national space, prevent and eliminate risks and threats, especially in the maritime space, where piracy actions are frequent, involving illegal fishing, fuel smuggling and illegal immigration.<\/p>\n

The Armed Forces Command, under the supreme guidance of the political power, added Altino dos Santos, has been working to strengthen relations of friendship and cooperation with the military institutions of the countries in geostrategic spaces to which the country belongs, working to promote actions that aim to guarantee peace, stability and security in Africa.<\/p>\n

Finally, he said that the Armed Forces have invested in training and qualifying staff, creating engineers, and an industry of military interest, capable of providing units, establishments and bodies with military equipment, medicines and utensils.<\/p>\n

Air Force reiterates support for FAA<\/p>\n

The commander of the National Air Force (FAN), General Virgi\u0301nio Anto\u0301nio da Cunha Pinto, reaffirmed his willingness to continue to comply with the provisions and orders issued by the Superior Command of the Armed Forces, closing ranks around the Commander-in-Chief, following the triumphant march \u201ctowards the challenges of the present and the future\u201d.<\/p>\n

The general stressed that he is confident that the future will always belong to the youth and future generations, known as the turning point generation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want each one of us, in these 33 years of existence of the Angolan Armed Forces, to celebrate the small and large victories that we achieve in our daily lives,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
