Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The municipality of Nhare\u0302a, in Bie\u0301, expects to harvest, in the 2024\/2025 agricultural campaign, a total of 69,750 tons of various products.According to the municipal director of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, He\u0301lder Huambo, who was speaking at the opening ceremony of the agricultural campaign, held yesterday in the village of Missongue, in the commune of Caieie, 46 hectares of land have been prepared using mechanized means, animal traction, motor cultivators and family production.<\/b><\/p>\n

The campaign should involve 37 cooperatives and 15 thousand peasant families.<\/p>\n

To ensure the success of the campaign, 12 tons of corn, 10 tons of rice, and several tons of fertilizers including manure, ammonium and urea were distributed.<\/p>\n

The person responsible for the Agriculture Sector of Nhare\u0302a also highlighted that for this agricultural campaign, the municipality will invest in large-scale rice cultivation.<\/p>\n

Guaranteed support<\/p>\n

The municipal administrator of Nhare\u0302a, Neves Chissonde, said in his speech that the Government of Bie\u0301 will continue to support the initiatives of peasants organized in cooperatives and individual producers.<\/p>\n

The distribution of seed varieties and fertilizers to farmers aims, above all, to combat poverty and improve the producers’ diet.<\/p>\n

The fertilizers and seeds purchased by the Provincial Government arrived at a good time, as they would serve as a “springboard”, with production using an irrigation system.<\/p>\n

Neves Chissonde assured that the Executive’s challenges involve improving the living conditions of the population, through the implementation of income-generating activities for the well-being of the citizens.<\/p>\n

The official urged farmers to work in agricultural cooperatives to facilitate the necessary support.<\/p>\n

Incentives<\/p>\n

The president of the “Lomanda” Agricultural Cooperative, Adelino Epuka, committed to multiplying production, with emphasis on the cultivation of vegetables in lowlands and other areas.<\/p>\n

The cooperative received fertilizer, hoes, machetes and a spraying machine, with the aim of supporting the cultivation of corn, beans, cassava and various vegetables.<\/p>\n

Ara\u0303o Sachipia, from the “Kapango” Agricultural Cooperative, said that the instruments received will serve to boost the activities of families involved in the agricultural production process, focusing on corn, beans and cassava.<\/p>\n
