Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The coordinator of the JMPLA monitoring group, Paulo Pombolo, defended, yesterday, in Luanda, that the JMPLA continues to raise its role and voice in the major issues facing Angolan youth, occupying media and debate spaces in order to make its intentions heard, in the programmatic plan to be approved at the 9th Ordinary Congress of the organization.Speaking at the 3rd Extraordinary Meeting of the JMPLA National Committee, he stated that the renewal proposed to the National Committee and to the activists of the youth organization must be guided by a regeneration of ideas, strategies and commitments to Angolan youth.<\/b><\/p>\n

In his speech, the MPLA’s general secretary also made it known that the process of renewing the youth wing’s bodies and organizations had recently been carried out, from the base to the intermediate level, to ensure the election of leaders who were up to the demands and prepare the organization to face the upcoming challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe challenges are immense, with emphasis on the strategy of revitalizing and growing the JMPLA’s militant base and adapting the structure within the framework of the country’s new Political Administrative Division”, he said. In this context, the politician called for the same level of elevation, dedication, education, discipline and seriousness demonstrated so far, having advised that \u201cthe admission of values \u200b\u200bthat do not identify with the character and nature of the organization be avoided\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe must avoid cheap and offensive speech. Let us organize campaigns that serve as an education for the new generation of young activists, members of the JMPLA. Above all, let us promote civic-mindedness and ethics within the organization for all activists of the youth organization,\u201d he requested. Regarding the 3rd extraordinary meeting of that youth faction, Paulo Pombolo stressed that it represents a unique opportunity to evaluate the five years of the mandate and project a promising future for the organization and the youth of the country, in general.<\/p>\n

JMPLA National Committee analyzes the 9th Congress<\/p>\n

The first national secretary of JMPLA, Crispiniano dos Santos, informed that, within the scope of the organic process of the 9th Ordinary Congress, the National Committee was convened for this extraordinary session, in order to analyze the documents to be submitted to the upcoming meeting.<\/p>\n

Crispiniano dos Santos stated that, after the assessment and mandate renewal assemblies were held at the level of the grassroots structures, meetings were held at the level of the intermediate structures. On the other hand, he highlighted that a total of 35,899 meetings were also held, which corresponds to 80 percent of the assemblies held. Regarding the assessment and mandate renewal assemblies at the level of the communes and urban districts, he revealed that of the 562 assemblies planned, 562 were held, which corresponds to 100 percent, which allowed the participation of 124,582 delegates, corresponding to 89.70 percent of them.<\/p>\n

The national first secretary of JMPLA also highlighted that at the level of the municipal committees, the 164 assemblies scheduled were fulfilled, corresponding to 100 percent, which made it possible to reach 144 municipal first secretaries, of which 20 were reappointed.<\/p>\n
