Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Executive Secretariat of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) considers the first year of the mandate of the rotating presidency of Angola in the leadership of the organization to be positive. This position was expressed by the community’s executive secretary, Zacarias Costa, at the end of a working meeting with the head of Angolan diplomacy, T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the official, the meeting also served to assess the preparations for the ordinary meeting of the CPLP Council of Ministers, scheduled for June 3, in Luanda, emphasizing that it will be of great importance for the life and objectives of the organisation.<\/p>\n

Zacarias Costa took the opportunity to inform the head of Angolan diplomacy about the event “Luanda – capital of culture and Portuguese language”, to be held next Thursday (5th). With this activity, he said, the aim is to strengthen historical ties, the promotion of cultural diversity and the Portuguese language, thus reaffirming the importance of culture in the relationship and approximation of the peoples of the CPLP member states.<\/p>\n

The meeting served to assess the first tripartite meeting of the ministers of Economy, Trade and Finance of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries, which took place from 27 to 29 April.<\/p>\n

About the tripartite meeting, Zacarias Costa made a positive assessment of the ministerial and sectoral activities, including the work of the various technical groups, with emphasis on the Agenda of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries.<\/p>\n

The official considered the results achieved with the meeting to be important and a “great success”, for having produced a strategic agenda for business economic cooperation and an action plan for the organization in the coming years.<\/p>\n

Reaffirmation Of Support<\/b><\/p>\n

For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Angola’s support for the Executive Secretariat. “We believe that it must continue to deserve our support, taking into account that its solidity in financial and human terms also translates into the solidity of the Organization”, he observed.<\/p>\n

T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio expressed Angola’s satisfaction with the joint work that has been carried out with the Executive Secretariat to fulfill the Organization’s defined objectives. “Now that we have the strategic agenda for economic cooperation 2022-2027, it is up to us to concretely translate what is the main objective of the Angolan Presidency that passes through the economic pillar”, he stressed.<\/p>\n

The minister also reaffirmed that the Angolan Government will do everything to ensure that all components linked to the economic pillar become a reality. The Energy and the seas sector also deserved the attention of the two entities, where the opportunity was taken to appreciate the United Nations conference on the oceans that will take place in Lisbon next July.<\/p>\n
