Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, received again, Wednesday (04), at the Presidential Palace, in Cidade Alta, the leaders of the main trade union forces in the country, namely Jos\u00e9 Laurindo, from UNTA-CS, Francisco Jacinto Gaspar, from CGSILA, and Cl\u00e9ofas Ven\u00e2ncio, from FSA-CS, with whom he discussed issues related to the lives of workers.<\/b><\/p>\n

On their way out, union leaders revealed to the press that they had sent a joint memorandum to the President, containing the main concerns that trouble workers.<\/p>\n

On this subject, Jos\u00e9 Laurindo said that the memorandum is summarized in the workers’ social and labor life, not leaving aside the salary issue. “Wages today have lost their purchasing power, but for reasons that all of us, as citizens and patriots, know,” he stressed.<\/p>\n

For his part, Francisco Jacinto Gaspar praised the openness that the President maintains with the country’s trade union forces, listening to concerns. “This being the second time that they receive us, we cannot fail to emphasize the importance and relevance, because it allows us, as defenders of the working class in the country, to raise concerns”, he stressed.<\/p>\n

Cl\u00e9ofas Ven\u00e2ncio praised the Executive for the approval of the proposal for the General Labor Law, noting that the diploma “came to put an end to the aberration that was registered in relation to workers”.<\/p>\n

In his investiture speech, the President mentioned that no governance will be successful without open dialogue with the different social forces, having therefore ensured that he would maintain greater approximation with trade unions and professional orders, non-governmental organizations and some pressure groups, as partners of the Executive.<\/p>\n

“All these vital forces in Angola must be called upon to contribute to the design and execution of public policies that the National Assembly and the Executive may approve,” he said at the time.<\/p>\n
