Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of State for Social Affairs, Maria Braganc\u0327a, on Monday in Luanda, defended the need to guarantee a future where all people, regardless of their physical, cognitive or psychosocial conditions, have the same opportunities to live fully.<\/b><\/p>\n

The official made the statement at the national conference on the rights of people with disabilities organized by the Ministry of Social Action, Family and the Promotion of Women (MASFAMU), held under the motto \u2018expanding the leadership of people with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future\u2019.<\/p>\n

Maria Braganc\u0327a underscored the need to reflect on the progress made, identify difficulties and commit to integrated and collective actions.<\/p>\n

The conference reaffirmed the Angolan government’s commitment to promote full and sustainable inclusion, reiterating the need for joint efforts to overcome challenges and build a more equal future for all.<\/p>\n

It looked at the progress and challenges related to social inclusion in the country, assessed the degree of disability and the requirements for obtaining benefits and rights, access to the formal labor market in the face of the system of inspection of the job reservation regulations and the mechanisms for including people with disabilities in the monetary aid Kwenda Program.<\/p>\n

The forum also analyzed the challenges faced by women and girls with disabilities in accessing health services, the role of the media in strengthening social inclusion, strategies for promoting pre-school and primary education, as well as monitoring accessibility in urban areas.<\/p>\n
