Assistant Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, who made public the way in which the US Administration views the fight against corruption in Angola, underlined, after leaving the audience with the Head of State, at the Presidential Palace, to Cidade Alta, that ” the phases of the process, whose results are already visible, are taken into account\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to Wendy Sherman, priority issues on the government’s agenda, such as the holding of the next general elections, scheduled for August, the ongoing reforms, as well as all the measures being implemented in the country, were also addressed during the meeting with the President.<\/p>\n

“The meeting with the President of the Republic made it possible to address a wide range of subjects, with emphasis on business, fundamentally in the sectors in which Angola wants to see North American investment grow”, said the diplomat. Wendy Sherman advanced that the conversation included, also, “issues related to international relations, appreciating everything that is happening in the world, from the pandemic, the conflict in Europe, to the security concerns at the level of several countries”.<\/p>\n

\nWendy Ruth Sherman, born June 7, 1949, is an American professor and diplomat who, since April 2021, has served as Assistant Secretary of State in the Government of President Joe Biden. The secretary is a member of the Presidential Cabinet and ranks highest in the line of succession in order of precedence.
