Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, held, this Monday, at the Presidential Palace, a private meeting with his counterpart from S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe, Carlos Vila Nova, with whom he discussed matters related to cooperation between the two countries.<\/b><\/p>\n

Angola and S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe formalized cooperation on February 19, 1978, through the General Agreement of Friendship and Cooperation, following which several legal instruments were signed, aiming to promote and deepen economic, scientific, technical cooperation relations. and culture between the two countries.<\/p>\n

A continuous act was formalized the Bilateral Joint Commission created in January 1980, which held its sixth and last session, in Luanda, in November 2007.<\/p>\n

The two countries, which cooperate in the political, diplomatic and economic fields, are members of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) and of Portuguese Speaking African Countries (PALOP).<\/p>\n
