Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The secretary of State for Oil and Gas, Jose\u0301 Barroso, reported this Thursday, in Luanda, that Angola exported a total of 98.2 million barrels of oil, during the 4th quarter of 2024, valued at USD 7.3 billion, representing a 4.7% decrease compared to the same period of 2023.<\/b><\/p>\n

Compared to 2024’s previous quarter, there was a 3.83% drop.<\/p>\n

When taking stock of oil and gas exports for the 2024’s last quarter, the official highlighted that, in the aforementioned period, oil was sold at a weighted average price of USD 79.78 per barrel, with China and India being the main destinations, with 51.91% and 10.02%, respectively.<\/p>\n

In the international market, he explained, the price of Brent showed a volatile behavior, with a downward trend, resulting from the maintenance of some refineries in China and the consequent reduction in imports of raw materials by this country, along with geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

According to the secretary of State, in cumulative terms Angola exported 394.4 million barrels of crude oil in 2024, resulting in the revenue of around USD 31.4 bn (provisional data).<\/p>\n

Regarding natural gas, in the quarter under analysis, it is reported that the country exported 1.3 million metric tons, with emphasis on LNG, with around 81%, corresponding to a gross value of USD 809.13 million. A 29% increase compared to the same period in 2023 and 5% compared to the previous three months.<\/p>\n

He justified that the increase was due to the rise in the price of natural gas on the international market.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the director of the Planning and Statistics Study Office (GEPE) of the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Alexandre Garrett, highlighted that the main branches sold in the last quarter of 2024 were Da\u0301lia (11.66%), Mostarda (9.61%), Hungo (9.54%), Nemba (7.91%), Cabinda (6.91%) and Pazflor (6.79%).<\/p>\n

He indicated that of the export volume achieved in last year’s 4th quarter, 26.06% belong to the National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG) and 15.21% to Sonangol, while the international company Azule Energy stands out with 16.46%, TotalEnergies (12.47%), Esso (10.04%), Cabgoc (6.15%) and SSI (5.73%).<\/p>\n

In the aforementioned period, 1.1 million metric tons (MT) of LNG were exported at an average price of 693.616 dollars per MT, 173.40 thousand metric tons of Propane at an average price of 372.127 dollars\/MT and 68.26 thousand metric tons of Condensates at an average price of 598.080 per MT, although there is no export of Butane.<\/p>\n
