Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan ambassador to Spain, Alfredo Dombe, highlighted this Friday, in Madrid, the importance of relations between the two countries, taking into account the support of the Spanish after National Independence.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a press release, the diplomat’s statement was made during the launch of the special edition of the magazine \u201cDiplomacia Siglo XXI\u201d, published in Spanish and Portuguese.<\/p>\n

As part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Angola’s Independence, Alfredo Dombe emphasized that the Kingdom of Spain was one of the first countries in the West to recognize the right to self-determination of Angolans.He highlighted that since then, ties between the two countries have strengthened, covering areas such as trade, energy, agriculture, culture, education and diplomatic cooperation.He highlighted that in the political and diplomatic sphere, relations between Angola and Spain have registered significant development.<\/p>\n

He cited as an example the official visits of President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o to Spain, as well as that of the Spanish Kings to Angola, highlighting the strengthening of this strategic partnership.<\/p>\n

As a reflection of this strengthening of ties, he said, the two countries maintain active collaboration in multilateral forums, such as the United Nations, where they share aligned positions on essential global issues, including the fight against climate change, the promotion of human rights and commitment with international peace and security.<\/p>\n

For Alfredo Dombe, another central element of this relationship is the Angolan diaspora in Spain, which has played a crucial role in bringing the two nations closer together.<\/p>\n

“In addition to contributing to cultural diversity, this community reinforces human ties between Angolans and Spaniards, promoting dynamic social and cultural exchange”, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

The diplomat highlighted Angola’s role as a facilitator of peace in the Great Lakes region and its growing international projection.<\/p>\n

The ceremony brought together representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, members of the Spanish government, politicians and figures from civil society, consolidating the partnership between Angola and Spain and opening new opportunities for cooperation in various sectors.<\/p>\n
