Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic of S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe, Carlos Manuel Vila Nova, returned this Wednesday morning, 11 May, to his country, after a four-day state visit to Angola.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Sao Tome and Principe statesman received farewell greetings, at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio, as well as from Ana Paula Sacramento Neto, Minister of Youth and Sports, and from the deputy governor of Luanda to the Economic Sector, Lino Quienda Sebasti\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Also present were, among others, the ambassadors of Angola in S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe, Joaquim Duarte Pombo, and of S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe in Angola, Carlos Gustavo dos Santos.<\/p>\n

During his stay, the program of the Sao Tome Head of State included, in addition to a meeting with his Angolan counterpart, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, a session at the National Assembly, visits to the university town of Dr. Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto and the Memorial, trip to the Academy of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (Namibe province).<\/p>\n

The two countries, which cooperate in the political, diplomatic and economic fields, are members of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) and of Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP).<\/p>\n

The Republic of S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe, an African island country near the equator, is part of a volcanic chain with impressive rocks and coral formations, as well as tropical forests and beaches.<\/p>\n
