Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>I was born and raised in Angola, during a very difficult time in our country’s history. At the time, no promises were made to improve the quality of life, education, health, or employment; and the context did not allow for the observance of the law; the focus was on ending the civil war that was ravaging the country.<\/b><\/p>\n

With the understanding I have today, I realize that each era has its challenges, and at the time the challenge was to security, peace, and national stability.<\/p>\n

At that time, it was not enough to be Angolan to contribute to the well-being of this country, people had to say which side they were on, and that was more than enough reason for persecution, exclusion and even death.<\/p>\n

At the time, the slogan \u201cwhoever does not identify with our ideals is against us\u201d prevailed. People were not thinking about the country, but about the ideals of one of the sides involved in the conflict.<\/p>\n

At this difficult time in our country, there were divisions, accusations, conspiracies, and people lived by convictions.<\/p>\n

To overcome these challenges, we count on the best Angolan politicians and military personnel.<\/p>\n

We explored all avenues to find a peaceful solution. We tried, tried, and tried until we succeeded. Here we are! Despite our differences, we are united in a single cause, the cause of the Angolan people.<\/p>\n

Currently, with the solidification of the Democratic and Legal State, we are all on the same side. The side of the well-being of Angola and Angolans.<\/p>\n

Today we face other challenges. The challenges of solidifying the Democratic State and the Rule of Law, food security, economic, financial and social stability. This is not a challenge for President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o alone; it is a challenge for all Angolans (people, executive, legislative and judiciary).<\/p>\n

Let us believe in the President of the Republic and in the State Institutions. Let him do his duty and demand his rights; in a Democratic State governed by the rule of law, we do not live by convictions; but by scrupulous compliance with the law.<\/p>\n

Let’s stop being suspicious and focus on the current challenges! We are already on the same side!<\/p>\n

Young people, do not allow yourselves to be contaminated by those who still live by convictions! Today, in this new challenge, everything has been done by the people, for the people, and through the people.<\/p>\n

We should not hope for things to go wrong, so that we can find someone to blame, but we should contribute to making things work. Because everything is being done by us, and for us. We are Angolans. If something goes wrong, we will all be affected.<\/p>\n

Remember: Today we are all on the same side. The side of solidifying the Democratic and Law-Based State, food security, economic, financial and social stability.<\/p>\n
