Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The directive commission of the Union of Angolan Writers (UEA), reappointed for a term of three more years, takes office tomorrow, at 11:00 am, at the institution’s headquarters, next to Largo das Escolas, in Luanda.<\/b><\/p>\n

The secretary general of the UEA, David Capelenguela, 53, was the only candidate for his succession, in a list that has as a novelty the writer Lopito Feij\u00f3o, who now holds the position of chairman of the Board of the Assembly, replacing Lu\u00eds Kandjimbo.<\/p>\n

David Capelenguela told, in Luanda, yesterday, as a quick assessment, that the last three years have been one of resilience ahead of the UEA, due to the pandemic. Among the accomplishments, he highlighted, the 70 editions of the project “Maka \u00e0 Quarta\u201d and the promotion of Angolan literature abroad. “During the previous term, an agreement was signed with TV Zimbo, for the regular transmission of the project ‘Maka on Wednesday\u201d, said the writer.<\/p>\n

Another achievement, he revealed, was having signed a cooperation contract with Imprensa Nacional for the edition of 20 titles, with the first ten books already in the second edition phase.<\/p>\n

Born in Hu\u00edla, David Capelenguela is the seventh secretary general of UEA, the first cultural association created after National Independence, on December 10, 1975. A lawyer by profession, with a degree and master’s degree in Law, David Capelenguela is a member of the UEA and a of the co-founders of the Young Literature Brigade of Namibe. The author has on the market the books “V\u00e9u do Vento”, “Gravuras Doutro Sentido” and “Acordanua”.<\/p>\n
