Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>An industrial superstructure to support fishing activity under construction in an area of \u200b\u200beight hectares, in the Cadal area, on the outskirts of the village of Soyo (Zaire), by the Sino-Angolan company Seatag-Pescas, begins to carry out preliminary tests in the month of June.<\/b><\/p>\n

The unit, which will process 10,000 tons of fish every month, received, on Tuesday, the Secretary of State for the Economy, Dalva Ringote Allen, to whom investors said he had spent 90 million dollars, predicting the generation of seven thousand jobs (3,300 direct and 3,700 indirect), only for national citizens, mainly young people.<\/p>\n

The project manager of the company Seatag-Pescas, Alcatir Costa, said that the physical execution of the work is in the order of 85 percent. To sustain the activity of this new fishing industry, the company had four siege vessels built in China.<\/p>\n

However, the arrival of these vessels in the country awaits authorization from the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, so that they can be inspected in the country, since the Chinese city where the resources are located is under sanitary fence, as a result of the emergence of a new wave of Covid-19.<\/p>\n

At the moment, “the main difficulty we are facing has to do with the void in the authorization for the construction of trawlers by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries”, commented Alcatir Costa. He added that, in the Soyo region, fishing is that of trawling, with which the project was conceived, fundamentally, for this type of fishing gear.<\/p>\n

Commendable Youth Initiative<\/b>
\n“We are certain that there is a will, both from the private business class and the public sector, to ensure that our companies play a central role in leveraging our economy”, said Dalva Ringote Allen, during the visit to the infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Dalva Ringote Allen visited, in the oil-producing municipality of Soyo, some projects with socio-economic impact, on the sidelines of the launch of the Informal Economy Reconversion Program (PREI).<\/p>\n

Infrastructures built after 2017, in various fields, have contributed to the generation of thousands of jobs for youth and the dynamism of economic activity in the province of Zaire, noted the Secretary of State for the Economy.<\/p>\n

Dalva Ringote Allen praised the initiative of these young Angolans, considering that it contributes to the creation of jobs, and guaranteed that the Executive is available to provide institutional support and ensure that the project is successful and the impact expected by society.<\/p>\n

The governor of Zaire, Pedro Makita, considered the fishing unit to be of great value for the promotion of employability and praised the cooperation established in the most varied fields between Angolan and Chinese companies.<\/p>\n

“This Sino-Angolan cooperation, which is also in other fields, is to be valued, encouraged and fed, so that Angola can follow other directions”, said Pedro Makita, recalling that, in addition to oil, the province of Zaire has enormous potential in the fields agriculture, fisheries and other minerals.<\/p>\n
