Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Last night, Petro de Luanda ended the dream of reaching the final of the League of African Champions Clubs in football, by drawing 1-1 against Wydad AC, at the Mohamed V Complex Stadium, in the city of Casablanca, in a game concerning to the second leg of the semi-finals.<\/b><\/p>\n

Despite having scored first in the match, with an excellent goal from Gleison Moreira, the tricolors showed in some moments of the match a lack of inspiration to win. The goal came after a quick counterattack, completed by the attacking midfielder of the Eixo Vi\u00e1rio club with a strong shot, without giving goalkeeper Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti a chance of defense.<\/p>\n

After Petro’s goal, in the 21st minute, the Moroccans tied the match through Amine Farhane in the 28th minute, following a corner kick.<\/p>\n

The WAC defender appeared in goalkeeper Wellington’s area, unopposed, to equal the challenge. Afterwards, the Moroccan team managed well the advantage brought by the first leg challenge, carefully controlling the offensive movements of the tricolors.<\/p>\n

Before the break, Mindinho, in the WAC area after an assist from a teammate, headed weakly towards the defense of the goalkeeper, Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti.<\/p>\n

With this result, the tricolors failed, for the second time, to qualify for the Champions Clubs’ League final, after being eliminated in 2001 by Mamelodi Sundowns FC.<\/p>\n

In the first leg, WAC defeated Petro, 1-3, at Est\u00e1dio Nacional 11 de Novembro, in Luanda, a week ago.<\/p>\n

The tricolors will return to Luanda on Monday, from Lisbon, the Portuguese capital, where they made a technical stop, after leaving Casablanca, and carried out a decongestion training.<\/p>\n

Al Ahly’s South African coach Pitso Mosimane wants to win his third consecutive Champions League trophy with the Egyptian team, and his fourth as a coach (he has already won the competition with Mamelodi Sundowns), and the victory in Algiers will be more a step towards trying to achieve the goal.<\/p>\n

S\u00e9tif, winners of the Champions League in 1988 and 2014, will need a lot of inspiration and excellent performance at home to reverse their four-goal deficit to advance to the final.<\/p>\n
