Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The heads of Angola’s diplomatic missions are meeting, today and tomorrow, in Luanda, to analyze and adjust the foreign policy strategy, according to the country’s interests, said, Friday (13), Francisco da Cruz, Ambassador of Angola to Ethiopia and to the African Union.<\/b><\/p>\n

The spokesperson for the meeting also said, at a press conference yesterday, that the 9th Meeting of Ambassadors will have as its central theme “Angolan foreign policy in the current international context” and that the country’s strategy must be adjusted to its interests, considering several factors that have occurred in the world, such as Covid-19.<\/p>\n

“Our analysis of the diplomatic presence takes into account all these factors and we will have the opportunity, at this 9th Meeting of Ambassadors, to analyze the diplomatic network, with a view to seeing the strategic importance of each of our diplomatic and consular missions, the identification of other opportunities where our presence is felt, taking into account what we believe to be fundamental in the interests of Angola at the international level\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

Francisco da Cruz said that the Meeting of Ambassadors is a consultation body of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, which is responsible for analyzing the execution of the Angolan State’s foreign policy in the most diverse aspects and recommending strategies and political-diplomatic lines of action.<\/p>\n

The 9th Meeting of Ambassadors will have as fundamental objectives to reflect on Angola’s strategic policy in the face of the challenges and opportunities arising from the current international context and to make the adjustments that are convenient and adequate.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, the ambassadors will analyze topics such as digital diplomacy, communication policy, the domain of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), the challenges of the Republic of Angola, in the face of the growing wave of cyber attacks. In the first panel, participants will discuss questions about the importance of information technologies in the processing of diplomatic information, as well as the importance of network diplomacy in bilateral and multilateral relations.<\/p>\n

Francisco da Cruz said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs defends better communication of its actions, within the technological modernity that is registered in the world. “We think it is important to communicate more and better, which is why the communication plan of the Republic of Angola will be under analysis to better understand how to use this plan in the scope of public diplomacy”, he stressed, stressing that cultural diplomacy is also essential and that the Expo Dubai was important.<\/p>\n

The diplomats will also discuss the institutional communication plan of the Republic of Angola, especially in terms of the application of public diplomacy and analyze information management, the circulation of information between the central body of the ministry and the consular diplomatic missions.<\/p>\n

The ambassadors will also analyze the issue of the insertion of Angolan cadres in international organizations as a way of advancing Angola’s agenda of affirmation and diplomatic influence in the international context. The analysis of internal issues will be on the table, with emphasis on administration and finance, the resizing process and the staff rotation plan underway in diplomatic missions.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson for the meeting said that the second panel will address the national strategy on Human Rights, as a guiding document that aims to frame the actions of the Angolan Executive in the field of Human Rights, with reference to the Governance Plan 2017\/2022 and the Plan of National Development 2018\/2022.<\/p>\n

The third panel, he said, will discuss the advantages of the new Private Investment Law and its effects on improving the business environment in Angola and the fourth panel will be dedicated to finance, supervision and accountability.<\/p>\n

“It will be an opportunity to discuss issues related to the preparation, execution and supervision of the budget, so we will have the active participation of the Ministry of Finance, the General Inspectorate of State Administration and the Court of Auditors”, he informed.<\/p>\n

The ambassadors will also analyze the strategy of insertion of Angolan cadres in international organizations, as a process of affirmation and of influence of Angola in the international arena. Today, the second day of work, the ambassadors will address the directive of the economic diplomacy strategy of the Republic of Angola for the period 2020\/2022, with a view to balancing the perspective of action with international partners, in particular with strategic ones.<\/p>\n
