Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The writer Fragata de Morais was in favor of a curricular revision to integrate contents about the work of Agostinho Neto in the general teaching and learning system, referring, as a justification, to the legacy of Neto, known, either for its politics, as Founder of the Nation, both for his literary production as the author of a universe of texts of inestimable political-scientific value and, equally, for his artistic vein as the author of “notable poems”.<\/b><\/p>\n

Fragata de Morais stated that it was necessary to move forward, making an appeal to the Ministries of Culture, Education and Higher Education to “look into the matter and define what must be done so that all this materializes” “. The Union of Angolan Writers (UEA), whose patron is the Founder of the Nation, should also include this concern in its agenda.<\/p>\n

The writer, who spoke about the “life and work of Agostinho Neto”, on Monday, during an interview, pointed out that he has this position because he understands that “Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto left a great legacy that should not be forgotten, on the one hand, and because, in perspective, we are in the presence of a historical fact, which, on the other hand, must be preserved for the good of the Nation and the Angolan people”.<\/p>\n

Fragata de Morais, who performed political functions for the MPLA and the Executive as Secretary of State for Culture, said that more needs to be done to preserve the teachings of an intellectual of Neto’s dimension, a true humanist, a trait with a remarkable presence in the your poetry. “We shouldn’t remember Neto, only on the 10th or 17th of September”.<\/p>\n

According to Fragata de Morais, to understand Neto’s dimension, it is enough to vote that the maxim “the most important thing is to solve the people’s problems”, remains current, and, in his opinion, it will always be so, as it implies dynamism. “This means that, no matter how good these people are, there is always the possibility of making an improvement”, emphasized the writer. “This maxim will always have a place in our society. But it does not mean that it will always have something negative in the lives of the people and the country”, underlined the interlocutor. During the telephone conversation, Fragata de Morais shared personal memories lived with the Founder of the Angolan Nation. “I have personal memories, because I had the privilege of having met Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto, of having offered me good times, particularly just before our independence,<\/p>\n

At that time, I accompanied Agostinho Neto to the ceremony for the proclamation of Mozambique’s Independence, on July 26, 1975. “At the time, we left Nampula and went to Maputo, where the night of the 25th to the 26th of July, 1975, was declared the Independence from Mozambique, with all that formalism, with the lowering of the Portuguese flag and the raising of the Mozambican flag, under a terrible rain”, says Fragata de Morais.<\/p>\n

In Mozambique, he underlined, the first meeting with Agostinho Neto took place, followed by another, already in national territory, Fragata de Morais worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “Then then came that unfortunate day of her untimely death, which left us all orphans as a country,” she lamented, under a commotion. “We lost our first father President, the guide and Founder of our Nation. It was a terrible shock, and we had to learn to live in a new perspective and dimension, where Agostinho Neto no longer belonged”, she said.<\/p>\n

Grandson’s Poetry<\/b><\/p>\n

Fragata de Morais recognizes that Neto’s poetry has always taken into account the rise of the human being and, above all, the struggle for the liberation of the country and its people. “It is a poetry that has a very large universal dimension”, said the writer, for whom Agostinho Neto has always placed in his poetry traits that characterize experiences such as joy, love and, why not, sadness. “It is a profoundly humanist poetry, which touches us, I assume, the soul and takes into account not only the struggle of the Angolan people, but of black peoples and all over the world, always with that hope that there will be a tomorrow… and if we have to cry, it will always have to be with dry eyes”!<\/p>\n
