Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Ombudsman, Florbela Rocha Ara\u00fajo, yesterday ended a two-day visit to Spain, which aimed to address questions about the procedural process, the system for receiving and managing complaints, as well as the role of the “Defensor del Pueblo” , as an institution of Human Rights in that European country.<\/b><\/p>\n

A note from the Ombudsman’s Office mentions that, on Tuesday, Florbela Ara\u00fajo was received by the director of International Relations at Defensor del Pueblo and vice-president of the Commission for the Prevention of Crimes against Torture of the same institution, Carmen Comas-Mata Mira, representing the Defensor del Pueblo de Espa\u00f1a, \u00c1ngel Gabilongo, with whom he discussed matters related to the deepening of institutional relations and analysis of possible areas of cooperation.<\/p>\n

The Ombudsman highlighted the objectives of the mission in Spain, taking advantage of the occasion to express the desire to gather more experiences in terms of procedural procedures and others related to the role of the Ombudsman.<\/p>\n

Following the meeting, Fernando \u00c1lvarez also spoke, explaining in detail the functioning of the Defensor del Pueblo institution and the system for receiving, recording and distributing complaints. He reported that the institution receives, on average, 25 to 30 complaints per year.<\/p>\n

The head of the IT and Systems Area, Juan Simal, illustrated the institution’s organizational structure, with some affinities to the Angolan Ombudsman. He highlighted the importance that the area attaches to the catalog of materials in the control, management and admission of the most recurrent complaints.<\/p>\n

He added that the Defensor del Pueblo institution has approximately 165 employees and said that Spain also recognizes the “defensores del pueblo” of the different autonomous communities in the country. technical-administrative staff of the institution.<\/p>\n

At the meeting was also the advisor for Economic Affairs of the Embassy of Angola in Spain, Maria Em\u00edlia de Almeida.<\/p>\n
