Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, concluded, on Saturday, a two-day official visit to Angola, during which the two countries gave a new impetus to bilateral relations, with the signing of five legal instruments in the areas of Air Services, Merchant Navy, Ports and Related Activities, Social Action and Gender Equality, Culture and Tourism.The documents were signed in the Treaty Room of the Pala\u0301cio da Cidade Alta, in Luanda, under the witness of the two Heads of State.<\/b><\/p>\n

On the occasion, President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o announced the creation of a technical committee to monitor the effective implementation of the aforementioned agreements.<\/p>\n

Without giving too many details about the committee, he recalled that there were approximately 38 instruments signed by the parties, and the aim of creating the committee was to put them into practice. \u201cWe need to move forward and make progress with the achievements that the two countries have reached,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n

The Agreements on Air Services, Merchant Marine, Ports and Related Activities were signed by the Angolan Minister of Transport, Ricardo d\u2019Abreu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique, Maria dos Santos Lucas. The agreement aims to highlight the importance of air transport as a means of creating and preserving relations of friendship, understanding and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries.<\/p>\n

In the Merchant Navy chapter, the two Governments intend to promote and expand cooperation in the Merchant Navy, Ports, Hydrography, Maritime Signaling and Staff Training sectors, taking into account the importance that these areas represent for the economy and development of both countries.<\/p>\n

The Memorandum of Understanding in the area of \u200b\u200bSocial Action and Gender Equality was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, and his Mozambican counterpart, Maria dos Santos Lucas. Its objective is to promote the exchange of experiences and the development of actions for the implementation of policies in the area of \u200b\u200bsocial action, gender equality and equity, as well as the creation of policies to promote the well-being of families, children, people with disabilities and the training and qualification of technicians and social workers.<\/p>\n

A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the Mozambique Tourism Institute (INATUR, IP) and the Angolan Tourism Development Institute (INFOTUR), with the aim of strengthening relations in the sector. The document was signed by the Director General of Infotur, Ali\u0301cia Neto dos Santos, and the Mozambican Ambassador to Angola, Osvalda Joana.<\/p>\n

The two Governments also signed the Executive Program for Cultural Cooperation for the three-year period 2025-2028, by Minister Filipe Zau and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique, to promote exchange in all dimensions of arts and culture, in order to contribute to the materialization of bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n
