Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola currently has 215 specialists in General and Family Medicine, of which 187 are expatriates, according to the Secretary of State for the Hospital Area.<\/b><\/p>\n

Leonardo Inoc\u00eancio, who was speaking at the first International Forum on General and Family Medicine, held last week in Luanda, added that 2,620 doctors are undergoing training in the areas of Pediatrics, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Internal and Intensive Medicine, Health Public, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, to improve assistance to the population.<\/p>\n

“We continued to invest in strengthening the National Health Service. Today, more than ever, we are committed to strengthening primary health care and increasing the population’s access to family doctors in the municipalities and equipping health units with complementary means of diagnosis. and essential medicines against major endemic diseases\u201d, said Leonardo Inoc\u00eancio.<\/p>\n

For Janet Ad\u00e3o, specialist in General and Family Medicine, the Executive’s commitment to the specialization of doctors and the presence of these professionals in the communities is visible.<\/p>\n

The doctor Yolanda Marcelino, Mozambican, praised the initiative of holding the International Forum of General and Family Medicine, which, she said, served to exchange experiences and knowledge of policies implemented by countries in this area.<\/p>\n

Promoted by the College of Specialty of General and Family Medicine, the meeting took place under the motto “The challenges of the family doctor in primary health care” and was attended by Brazilian, Cuban, Mozambican and Portuguese doctors.<\/p>\n
