Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall, started this Tuesday, 24, a 72-hour State visit to Angola, at the invitation of the Angolan Head of State, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the program of the visit, Macky Sall, who is also the acting president of the African Union, will, among other activities, lay a wreath on the sarcophagus of Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto (First President of Angola), held a meeting with the President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o and addressed an Extraordinary Session in the National Assembly.<\/p>\n

Signing Of Agreements<\/b>
\nThe occasion will also be used for the two countries to strengthen political and diplomatic ties with the signing of agreements in the fields of Justice, Trade, Tourism, Oil and Energy, Promotion and Protection of Investment.<\/p>\n

Senegal is a country located in West Africa, it borders the Atlantic Ocean to the west, Mauritania to the north and east, Mali to the east, and Guinea and Guinea-Bissau to the south.<\/p>\n

Senegal has a high profile in many international organizations and was a Non-Permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council between 1988\u20131989 and 2015\u20132016.<\/p>\n

The country was also elected to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights in 1997.<\/p>\n

The Republic of Senegal has the fourth largest economy in its region, is part of the Economic Community of West African States and is also a member of the African Union and the Community of Sahel-Sahara States, among other organizations.<\/p>\n
