Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>It’s official, General Higino Carneiro wants to be President of the MPLA, yes, the same MPLA that never got us used to open-ended internal disputes, the same political structure that has always preferred manufactured consensus to transparent competition.<\/b><\/p>\nBut now, with a microphone in hand and his eyes on the future, General Higino Carneiro challenges the system that “created” him, and he does so with a high-risk gesture that seems more like a cry for rupture or a last act of survival.<\/p>\n
Is he truly ready to fulfill his father’s long-held dream of becoming President of the Republic, or is he simply trying to confuse the situation, hoping for a better seat at the table?<\/p>\n
Furthermore, is the MPLA prepared to absorb this type of initiative without going into turmoil?<\/p>\n
Or will we watch the old machine crush yet another attempt at change, with fake smiles and behind the scenes on fire?<\/p>\n
In my opinion, Elder Higino may have said more with his attitude than with his words, perhaps he is showing that within the MPLA there are also people tired of democratic theater without democracy.<\/p>\n
Is it just theater or is there a stage for real competition?<\/p>\n
Is it political courage or class desperation?<\/p>\n
Is it an opening or just another fac\u0327ade rehearsal?<\/p>\n
What I know is that, today, for the first time in a long time, someone (General and with a history of leadership) within the MPLA dared to say “I want” before being told to say “it’s done”, and that, in itself, already shakes everything up.<\/p>\n
