Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angolan Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falca\u0303o, on Thursday discussed with sport journalists in Luanda, issues related to the construction, rehabilitation and management of infrastructures.<\/b><\/p>\n

In a participatory format adopted since his appointment to the position on February 14, 2024, Rui Falca\u0303o responded to journalists’ questions without filtering and also highlighted the approval of the anti-doping law, social security, and community sports.<\/p>\n

The Minister, as in the two previous meetings, explained that the infrastructure has been revamped during his term, mentioning as an example, the stadiums under construction in the provinces of Ui\u0301ge and Huambo, one of which will be inaugurated this year and the other in 2026.<\/p>\n

He was flanked by the Secretary of State for Sports Policies, Paulo Madeira, and stated that both venues will be equipped with an athletics track (tartan), as will the 11 de Novembro Stadium, due to the manipulation of the original installation.<\/p>\n

Rui Falca\u0303o stated that the venue, built for the 2010 African Cup of Nations, held in the country, should be refurbished to make it more attractive.<\/p>\n

Regarding the Cidadela stadium, he said that the transfer of management to the new manager, the National Oil Company (Sonangol), is dependent on a space where the federations will be operating within the compound, in addition to the Angolan Paralympic Committee (CPA), as well as taking account that the new headquarters of the Angolan Olympic Committee (COA) will be inaugurated soon.<\/p>\n
