Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, on Sunday in Luanda congratulated the Brazilian people on their 203rd anniversary of national independence, marked on September 7.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the Press Office of the Presidency of the Republic, in the message sent to his counterpart, Luiz Ina\u0301cio Lula da Silva, the Angolan Head of State highlighted the efforts undertaken to place Brazil in its rightful position within the context of developed nations.<\/p>\n

The message emphasizes that this was possible through the implementation of policies that, according to President Lula da Silva’s vision, are seen as guiding keys to the progress and well-being of all Brazilians.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o also reiterated his desire to fully explore the possibilities offered by the economies of both countries with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation and transforming it into a decisive factor for the development of Angola and Brazil.<\/p>\n

Angola-Brazil Cooperation<\/b><\/p>\n

Diplomatic relations between Angola and Brazil were officially established on November 11, 1975, the day of the proclamation of national independence.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that Brazil, considered the largest country in South America, became the first to recognize Angola’s sovereignty. Since then, the two countries have developed a diverse cooperation, supported by historical, cultural, and linguistic ties.<\/p>\n

In recent decades, it has been a leading partner in areas such as education and personnel training, health, agriculture, transportation, defence, energy and culture.<\/p>\n

Angolan students have received training at Brazilian universities through scholarship programs and academic exchange agreements.<\/p>\n

In the economic sector, Brazilian companies participate in structural projects in Angola, particularly in civil construction, engineering, energy, and oil and gas, contributing to technology transfer and the diversification of the national economy.<\/p>\n

Technical-military cooperation is also a central focus of the partnership, with exchanges and staff training in the areas of defence and security.<\/p>\n

However, at the politico-diplomatic level, the two countries maintain regular consultations in multilateral forums, such as the United Nations (UN), the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) and the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP), with the aim of strengthening cooperation, increasing reciprocal investment and boosting new strategic sectors, consolidating friendship and solidarity between the two peoples.<\/p>\n
