Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Construction work on the Caculo-Caba\u00e7a dam, in the municipality of S\u00e3o Pedro da Quilemba, in the municipality of Cambambe, in the province of Cuanza-Norte, the country’s largest energy project, resumed on Sunday after five days of bans, due to the incident involving workers and security personnel.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the project’s director, Augusto Chico, the work is proceeding normally, while the criminal investigation procedures are intensified and the respective legal proceedings are being instituted.<\/p>\n

He added that the absence of some national employees was noted, while the expatriates are complete.<\/p>\n

Gaspar Ant\u00f3nio, the older brother of one of the victims, confirmed that the funeral of his relative took place, on Sunday, with the support of the company.<\/p>\n

The mayor of Alto Dondo, Soba Miguel Ant\u00f3nio, a relative of another deceased, appealed to common sense between the parties and repudiated the vandalization carried out by some employees, since they could follow the path of dialogue. “A strike is not done with disorder, conversation is the best way to reach a good understanding,” he said.<\/p>\n

It should be recalled that, around 9 am on the 25th of May of the current year, within the aforementioned hydroelectric project, there was an act of vandalism of heritage assets, with emphasis on eight vehicles, electric generators, office supplies, refrigerators, electrical cables, doors and windows.<\/p>\n

A statement from the National Police reports that the act was carried out by a group of dissatisfied workers, alleging non-compliance with the points of the claim book, presented to the employer, the Chinese company CGGC CHINA GEZHOUBA GROUP COMPANY LIMITED.<\/p>\n

On the 26th, the group of dissatisfied workers continued with the rebellion, having vandalized the facilities and physically attacking Chinese citizens who were there.<\/p>\n
