Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of State for the Social Area, Carolina Cerqueira, said yesterday that Sweden reaffirms its willingness to continue to cooperate and support Angola’s development, especially in the post-Covid-19 phase, as well as in economic recovery.<\/b><\/p>\n

At the meeting between the Minister of State for the Social Area, Carolina Cerqueira, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, Ana Lander, issues related to cooperation between both countries were reviewed.
\nSpeaking to the press after the meeting, Carolina Cerqueira said that they also addressed issues in the fields of transport, solid waste processing, scientific research, health, renewable energy and water.<\/p>\n

“We are pleased to say that, in terms of aid for the country’s development, we have had a large participation of Swedish development agencies, especially in community work”, he underlined.<\/p>\n

The two rulers also analyzed issues related to peace on the African continent and worldwide, with Minister Carolina Cerqueira reaffirming the availability and effort of President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o for the pacification of the Great Lakes Region and national reconciliation in the region.<\/p>\n

Carolina Cerqueira welcomed Angola’s participation in the United Nations Conference on the Environment “Stockholm+50”, stressing that she had the opportunity to interact with many delegations present at the event, as well as to publicize the Angolan Government’s efforts to ensure that the environment agenda is a priority in the country.<\/p>\n

The Angolan delegation also participated in several events, where the post-Covid-19 situation, sustainable development and issues related to climate change were discussed.<\/p>\n

In this sense, he added that the country took the opportunity to present the actions it has taken to face the drought, as well as to take greater advantage of the oceans and the great hydraulic potential, always having man and his role in transformation as a fundamental factor, as well as as environmental protection.<\/p>\n

The minister led an Angolan delegation that participated in the United Nations Conference on the Environment “Stockholm+50”, which aimed to reinforce the global call to action to end poverty, protect the environment and climate and ensure that people, in everywhere may enjoy peace and prosperity.<\/p>\n
