Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Ma\u0301rio Oliveira, announced on Thursday in Luanda that the Angola News Agency (ANGOP) will soon have a new headquarters.<\/b><\/p>\n

Ma\u0301rio Oliveira reaffirmed the Angolan Executive’s commitment to ensuring better working conditions and greater dignity for media professionals in general.<\/p>\n

The Minister made the announcement during the ceremony commemorating ANGOP’s 50th anniversary, which is being celebrated October 30th.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that the new infrastructure project is already underway and that, while preparations are taking place, a transitional phase will be implemented to ensure the normal functioning of the agency.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will have a transitional phase, but ANGOP will have a new home. This is our commitment, the Ministry’s commitment, so that we can give all the dignity to the work that is developing,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

The government official recalled that the agency has played an essential role in the country’s history, reporting on landmark moments such as the Proclamation of National Independence and the consolidation of peace, emphasizing that the modernization of its infrastructure is a fitting tribute to this legacy.<\/p>\n

Minister Ma\u0301rio Oliveira took the opportunity to highlight the ongoing modernization process of public media outlets, noting that the Government has invested in technological upgrades and the expansion of the infrastructure of Angolan Public Television (TPA), National Radio of Angola (RNA), and Edic\u0327o\u0303es Novembro.<\/p>\n

“We are gradually creating conditions so that our media outlets can work with dignity and continue to serve the country and Angolans, as they have done to date,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Minister also highlighted the importance of integrating information and telecommunications technologies into modern journalism, stressing that the expansion of fiber optics and communication networks is making it possible to bring information to every corner of the country.<\/p>\n

During his speech, Ma\u0301rio Oliveira praised the role of media professionals in promoting national unity and disseminating the country’s achievements, defending the need for continuous training and rejuvenation of staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of work, a lot of study, a lot of dedication and a lot of love for the profession. This is the message I leave to the new generation of journalist,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n

The celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Angolan news agency were marked by moments of tribute to its founders and professionals, in a festive atmosphere that reinforced ANGOP’s role as a pillar of public information in Angola.<\/p>\n

ANGOP is a public news company in the country and aims to collect, process and distribute, on an exclusive basis, both in Angola and abroad, news based on objective information about national and international current events.<\/p>\n

ANGOP was created in 1975, under the name Age\u0302ncia Nacional Angola Press (ANAP). In 1991, it began operating 24 hours a day and also introduced innovations in editorial and technical plans.<\/p>\n

The company celebrated its 50th anniversary, October 30th.<\/p>\n
